LINDSAY FOR KIDS!

Fueled by music since she was a kid herself, Lindsay fills her days teaching, playing, and singing with children. Her teaching work has included toddler and caregiver music classes, preschool music camp leadership, group singing classes for kids age 6-10, in-classroom elementary school music residencies, and private instruction. She currently leads weekly music classes at the three branches of Stepping Stones Nursery School and teaches private piano, guitar, and voice lessons out of her home studio in Logan Square. Lindsay worked as a Teaching Artist with Ravinia's Music Discovery program for 9 years, and taught at the Old Town School of Folk Music for 15 years. She has her Kodaly II music certification from DePaul University. 

In group classes, Lindsay is dynamic, engaging, and theatrical. She encourages exploration and interaction, and knows that play is the heart of learning. Lindsay believes in harmony, takes beauty seriously, and is a sucker for silliness. She urges her students to be brave and celebrates their progress, whether it's a toddler attempting a finger play or a singer improvising a solo line. Lindsay strives for a classroom in which every student is challenged and every student is successful, according to their own unique ability. 

Lindsay is lively and warm as a teacher and performer, tailoring each lesson plan or performance to connect with the children and caregivers who are present. When her extensive repertoire of multi-lingual songs, fingerplays, and interactive musical games is not enough, her students have inspired original songs that reflect the wonder and exuberance for the world as seen through their young eyes.
