Lyrics

We deck the halls and wrap the garlands all around the tree.
Does it twinkle in the window if there’s no one there to see?
On the longest night of winter, why do we see in the dark?
‘Cause someone chose to set a little spark.

There’s a little light.
Can't you see the glow?
Strung along the eaves
And flickering at the windows.
In the darkness of December
At the closing of the year
There’s a little light because we’re here.

There’s no need for decoration if there’s no community.
I only get that shine because you put it there for me.
Though the cold of winter solstice holds us in our cozy homes,
These beacons gleam to show we’re not alone.

There’s a little light.
Can't you see the glow?
Strung along the eaves
And flickering at the windows.
In the darkness of December
At the closing of the year
There’s a little light because we’re here.

It tells you someone’s in here
Who believes that someone’s out there,
So we’re in this together,
Whatever outcomes there may be.

There’s a little light.
Can't you see the glow?
Strung along the eaves
And flickering at the windows.
In the darkness of December
At the closing of the year
There’s a little light because we’re here.

Someone’s in here
Someone’s out there
There’s a little light because we’re here.
